I'm Stephanie, brand and website designer with a love for helping women build their dream business. I'm here to help you get get that custom look for your business - without the custom price.
Today, I want to share 6 easy steps to strengthen your website. As a small business owner you’re always looking for ways to grow your business. Your website is one place you can optimize and elevate your potential client’s experience. You may just discover a new solution that works for your business.
To start, you need to determine the goal of your site. Is it to buy a product or book a service with you. Maybe it’s getting people to sign up for your newsletter or e-course. Now you also need to determine how or where you will get your visitors to take the action you want them to take. In your email list’s inbox? During discovery sessions or consultation calls? Or in in-person meetings? Whatever your main goals are, you need to make sure they are always the focus when you plan your website.
A cohesive brand identity includes things like your primary logo, corresponding secondary logos and brand marks. The process also includes patterns, colours, typography – all the things that make your brand unique. When your brand is woven throughout your web design, it showcases your professionalism and your expertise. It also communicates the value of your products and services and easily connects with your audience.
Photography can make a big difference in the way your business is perceived. On-brand and professional-looking photos can elevate your website’s design and enhance professionalism. On the other hand, blurry or pixelated photos can have the opposite effect.
There are so many great websites for both free and purchased stock photography. I love using images from Haute Stock and The Styled Stock Society. Professional-looking photos can showcase the value of the products and services you offer.
You’ll want to make sure all images are optimized for your site. Before uploading images, you’ll want to resize them from their original form to a smaller format. Large files to your website can slow down the load time. Website visitors expect a page to load in under 3 seconds, so it’s important to do this extra step.
Tools like JPEGmini and Tinypng are amazing for condensing the file size without affecting the quality of the image.
Reviews are such an important part of the purchasing process for many people. And when reviews are missing, it makes people wonder whether it’s a reliable product or service. Client testimonials are so important when it comes to building trust with your website. If you can add a picture and a name to your testimonials then even better. I’d recommend adding testimonials to the important pages of your website such as your homepage, your services page and even your contact page. People are much more likely to see it than if you had a page dedicated to testimonials on your website.
At the very least you should have a contact form and.your professional email address. Adding your social media links within your web design are also a great option. Additionally, you may add a link to schedule a phone call or Zoom call with you. With various ways to contact you or connect with you, you provide your website’s visitors with options for learning more about your products or services.
How will you implement these easy steps to strengthen your website?
