Showit is a website platform that is perfect for all types of businesses, with amazing features that can help you maximize your site. Here are here are five Showit features that I know that you’ll love and can use on your website very easily.
Think of Site Canvases as a static canvas. You can create it once and set it to appear across multiple pages. A quick example of this is your navigation and your footer. You want both of these sections to show up on every page, but you don’t want to edit every single page every single time. Site Canvases take care of that.
You can use site canvases for ANYTHING not just your navigation menu or footer.
On my own site, I’ve used site canvases for my contact form! This appears on two of my pages, Contact and Portfolio. I created it one time on my Contact page, then just a quick click and the contact form was added to the Portfolio page. Easy peasy!
Canvas views allow you to break up long sections with a lot of paragraphs into smaller, layered sections. Think of it as layering sections one on top of the other and only make it available when an image or text is clicked.
It acts like a typical slideshow gallery, not just for images, but for words as well. You can use canvas view for highlighting testimonials, showcasing your portfolio, or whatever you like!
Plus sites are used as an additional site to your main Showit website. You can use a plus site for a pricing guide, forms, client portals, design presentations, anything you want!
Each plus site has it’s own unique domain which is always a subdomain of your main website. Example, if your website url is wonderlandphotography.com and you add a services guide, your plus site could be named servicesguide.wonderlandphotography.com. Bonus: You can have as many plus sites as you want.
Being a no-code website builder, Showit makes it super simple to add custom fonts to keep your site completely on brand. In other platforms, this may not be such an easy process as adding custom fonts usually means installing code and then writing more code (and if you don’t know how to code…this can be, let’s say, NOT FUN!).
Showit provides a link to Font Squirrel, a free online service to upload your font file, which then will convert to a .WOFF file. Upload this .WOFF file to your media library in Showit, go back to your design settings and select your new font. As I said before, easy peasy!
Showit gives you complete control over the design of your blog. Your main blog page and post page are designed in Showit, using your specific brand colours, fonts, etc so you can create a seamless and on brand experience everywhere on your site.
Showit uses WordPress for blogging – this means that on the back-end your blogging is done in WordPress and then your Showit website will auto-populate that information into the design that you have created inside Showit.
