Have you ever been on a website and wondered, “Where the heck do I find what I’m looking for’”? Ensuring there is a strong strategy behind your website is key if you want to make your Showit site convert.
This is where using CTAs (aka call to action) is important. Think of your website as a book and you’re the author guiding your website visitors on a journey to the final goal…working with you!
Strong CTAs on your website are a vital for website conversion, and it’s just one piece of website strategy.
Here are 4 ways to use CTA’s to make your Showit site convert.
Every single main page of your website needs a clear call to action.
As part of the website journey, once a visitor reaches the bottom of a page, what’s the next step? The last thing you want is someone getting to the bottom of a page and being lost and confused.
Even though site visitors can access pages from the top and bottom navigation, it’s up to you to guide them along their site journey.
Think of the main goal of your website.
If your goal is to book out your 1:1 services your website journey might be: homepage – about – testimonials – services – contact.
If your goal is to sell a digital product your website journey might be: homepage – about – testimonials – products.
The calls to action on your website need to clearly guide the site visitor to the next step in the process.
You can definitely have multiple calls to action on a page however, each one should only lead to one destination.
The reason for this is you want to make the journey easy for your visitor. Providing too many options is overwhelming and leads to confusion.
Again, it needs to be super clear where your site visitor needs to go next.
One exception is your homepage because it’s meant to be an overview of the other pages with a call to action leading to each individual page. You’re still guiding them through their journey, but they are able to choose where they want to go.
To make your CTAs noticeable on your website, they really should be a button link, not just a text link.
Button links have a much higher conversion rate than text links because they stand out against paragraphs of text. Designing your CTA button with a solid fill and a pop of colour is a sure-fire way to draw attention.
You also want to make sure that the button text contrasts with the button itself. If you can’t easily read the text, your button just looks like a square on the page. Typically, if your button is a light colour, use a dark colour like black. If it’s a bright or dark colour button, use a light colour like white.
As you’re guiding your site visitor on their journey, it’s important to remember that the call to action needs to be crystal clear.
This could be “Schedule Your Free Consultation” or “Buy Now”. You want to make sure your CTA is super easy to understand.
You can also have fun with the wording, as long as the message is clear. “Gimme the Goods” or “I’m Ready to Roll” still show the visitor what is expected and what they will get in return.
